Angelvl Javier-Reynos was riding with another 18-year-old city resident when they were struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee just before 8 p.m. at 9th and Madison avenues, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi said.
Javier-Reynos was pronounced dead at the scene while the other rider was hospitalized with non-fatal injuries, the prosecutor said.
The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee had valid driving credentials and remained on the scene. They were not injured. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
